The Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual binational trade show, Mexport, to be held Thursday, April 21st, in Otay Mesa.
Mexport is known as the premier industrial business-to-business trade show in the Southern California/Baja California region promoting sourcing opportunities for manufacturers on both sides of the border. Last year the show brought together more than 160 major companies and more than 2,000 attendees from both countries.
The Cali-Baja region is seeing increases in demand on supply chain due major shifts in the global supply chain network. Logistics flows that where considered long-distance 5 years ago are seeing a decrease in value. One of the strategies being adopted by manufacturing companies is the shortening of supply chains and building more flexibility into logistics networks so they can respond better to changing market dynamics.
Baja California is responding to this new model of regionalizing the supply chain. The state represents a potential market of approximately $30 Billion in supply opportunities, generated by 900 companies – Mexico´s largest concentration of export manufacturing companies.
Tijuana EDC has partnered with Mexport for more than 10 years in a joint effort to build a bi-national supply base that boosts Tijuana´s competitiveness offering a fast and flexible response to industry needs. The Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce is a pioneer in the effort to create a linkage between regional industry and suppliers with ongoing programs such as Mexport.
We invite all in the industrial community from Tijuana and San Diego to attend this special event and meet with Tijuana EDC to learn about Baja California´s supply demand.
