Since 2009, export growth has been sustained. That year, the sector reached 2,300 million dollars; by 2011, they were already 4,300 million.
Two years later, In 2013, the industry reached 5,400 million dollars, in 2015 to 6,600 million dollars, and in 2017 to 7,600 million dollars.
Doing the maths, we can say that the sector’s growth has been 14.4% per year in the last 15 years.

The business’ numbers
Mexico, by volume of aerospace exports, ranks 12th in the world but is in a position to improve that position.
Most exports go to the United States with 80.7%, Canada with 4.7%, France with 3.5%, Germany with 3.2%, and 7.9% to various countries.
The country’s top participants in the industry are Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier aerospace, General Electric, Honeywell, and more.
And in the next 20 years, experts estimate that between 40,000 and 44,000 new planes will have to be built to respond to the demand, double the fleet that now operates worldwide.
This guarantees the growth of aerospace engineering in Mexico, which in the next ten years should be exporting 19,000 million dollars, according to FEMIA.
What do we produce the most?
Aerospace manufacturing in Mexico is concentrated in civil and commercial aviation. Most are engines, fuselages, landing gear, connection systems, doors, and other components.

Five states concentrate the largest number of plants dedicated to aerospace engineering in Mexico. Baja California (67), Sonora (58), Chihuahua (52), Querétaro (50) and Nuevo León (33).
